Meet Maggie, Your AI Tour Guide

A conversational AI tour guide built by Ant Touring and ArborAi

Say hello to Maggie. A conversational AI tour guide built by Ant Touring and ArborAi.

Maggie gives you something no map or sign ever could: a place explained as you move through it, in your own language. Every story we tell on tour — the history, the meaning behind it all — travels with you. Right now she speaks 27 languages.

More on that below, because it matters more than you might think.

How Maggie Started

Maggie began life as an avatar on this website. Her job was simple: help visitors understand what we do and answer their questions along the way.

She works a little like a chatbot, but the experience feels quite different. Maggie listens to what you say and builds the conversation from there. Each reply responds to your actual question, not a script. It feels less like clicking through a menu and more like chatting with a real person who knows our tours inside out.

Maggie Hits the Road

The next version of Maggie is where things get exciting. She is built for the self-drive market, and she lives on your phone as a travel companion you can talk to.

No more squinting at printed guides or reading signs from the car window. You just ask. Where is a good coffee stop? What is the story behind this cliff? Is there a short walk nearby worth doing? Maggie has a large database of local knowledge, so she can point you to coffee places, ice-cream, gentle walks and hidden corners you would otherwise drive straight past.

She also keeps you on track. Maggie tells stories, shares travel advice and helps you manage your time, so you see what matters without the day slipping away from you.

The real difference from older audio guides is the conversation. Maggie learns about you as you go and shapes her guidance to suit you. And she is lovely to travel with.

A Guide Who Speaks Your Language

Here is what sets Maggie apart. She converses fluently in 27 languages.

Many visitors who travel the Great Ocean Road and other iconic Victorian routes do not speak English as a first language. For them, Maggie means something well beyond convenience. It means a deeper, more personal connection with the places they are visiting, told in the language they think in.

We believe this is a real opportunity for Victoria to stand out as a destination on the world stage.

Seen at the Australian Tourism Exchange

We recently showed a working version of a Maggie-guided Great Ocean Road experience at the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE). The response went beyond what we had hoped for.

Operators told us they had never seen this kind of technology used in tourism before. Many said they felt confident they could offer it directly to their own self-drive customers.

What Comes Next

For now, Maggie is here to guide you around our website and help you plan your trip. Have a question about a tour? Ask her.

The travelling version of Maggie is in development, and we cannot wait to introduce her to the road. Watch this space.

Late September 2026.

Initially we will develop Maggie to do a 1-day and a 2-day Great Ocean Road tour as these are the most popular ways to self-drive the Great Ocean Road. We then plan to further develop the tours we offer during 2027.

Yes. The travelling version of Maggie is built for the self-drive market. She recommends coffee stops, short walks and local spots, tells stories about the places you pass, and helps you keep to time.

Where there is no coverage there will be pre-recorded information that will still be presented in a fun and engaging way by Maggie. Most importantly, those pre-recorded parts will also be available in your chosen language.
